While much of the team were busy setting up base in Jerez for the first test session on Tuesday, we also had the launch of our new car, new website, and the announcement of two new team partners; Rexona and Clear.
As the sun rises on day two in southern Spain, there’s still plenty to be excited about before the cars hit the track tomorrow. Romain arrived at the circuit yesterday evening, and will be talking to Lotus T125 guests in a specially prepared dome structure this morning.
Our media launch event will be taking place this afternoon, with drivers in attendance to show off their new car, overalls, and helmet designs. They will be joined by Eric Boullier, James Allison and Rob White (Renault Sport F1 Technical Director), who will be on hand to discuss the upcoming season and plans for the future.
Next up we have possibly the most exciting moment of the year so far, as Kimi takes to the track in the E20 for the first time for a filming session. Although he won’t be driving flat out around the 4.4km circuit, it promises to be a big moment for everyone related to the team; nerves and excitement levels will be running high!
We’ll be rounding off the day with our partner launch event, which takes place this evening in the dome structure. Bright lights, cocktails and a three-course meal await the drivers and senior management as they answer questions, sign autographs, and introduce themselves to our VIP guests.
It’s looking like another beautiful day here, and with a host of media events taking place the heat is certainly rising in the team garage. Perhaps by the end of the week we’ll be eager to return to the snow-covered fields at Enstone… but then again, perhaps not!
